Senior Product Manager Brazil - Risk and Controls

As our Senior Product Manager for Risk and Controls in LATAM, you’ll define and ship the controls that stop financial crime. You’ll partner with our compliance and risk teams to understand our current framework, spot the biggest opportunities, and deliver improvements. As you upgrade existing controls or build new ones, you’ll ensure they scale and keep things smooth for genuine customers by working closely with other wise’s teams. You’ll also team up with the operations folks who run these controls to make processes and tools faster, cheaper, and more effective. And you’ll stay close to our global due diligence and financial crime prevention teams to bring global enhancements into LATAM’s control setup.

Your Mission

• Build and launch controls that detect and block suspicious activity while meeting regulatory requirements.

• Strike the right balance between strong protection and a great experience for legitimate customers.

• Partner with KYC, Fraud Preventions and CS Operations to design scalable processes and tooling.

• Track results and keep iterating based on data and emerging threats.

• Monitor and improve control effectiveness and assurance.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

• Build money without borders for Brazil and other countries in LATAM. Create products that help millions of people and businesses send and receive money to and from LATAM.

• Tackle a rare technical challenge. We run financial crime controls across many markets leveraging on platforms. Scaling this is a problem few have solved. You’ll be at the forefront, shaping approaches that could set best practices for Wise and the wider industry.

What we are looking for:

• At least 6 years as a Product Manager with proven experience in fraud prevention, AML,KYC/KYB/, risk management, or related financial crime areas.

• Bonus points for experience with control effectiveness and assurance.

• Solid technical depth: you understand system architecture and can have detailed, credible conversations with engineers.

• Strong structured thinking: you break down complex, ambiguous problems and tie them back to the bigger picture.

• Bias for action and hands-on approach: you dive into analytics, talk to customers, write your own queries, and move projects forward.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience working in an agile setup in fintech.

• Self-driven, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to build new paths where none exist.

• Fluent in English.
