Mission of the Role

Responsibilities

• Lead or support the engineering and execution of digital solution projects, including DCS, SCADA/HMI, Advanced Process Control (APC), Asset Performance Management (APM), and Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM).

• Act as a technical reference throughout the project lifecycle: scope definition, engineering, commissioning, and handover.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, service, and product) to design and deliver tailored digital solutions aligned with customer needs.

• Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with ABB's quality and safety standards.

• Interface directly with customers across process industries (Mining, Pulp & Paper, Metals,) to translate operational challenges into digital solutions

• Support continuous improvement by identifying technical optimization opportunities and contributing to lessons-learned processes

• Contribute to the integration of IT/OT environments, leveraging ABB Ability™ platform capabilities and industrial IoT concepts

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Control, Chemical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field

• Proven experience in project engineering within industrial automation or digital solutions environments

• Solid knowledge of at least one of the following: DCS (ABB System 800xA, Symphony Plus, or equivalent), SCADA/HMI platforms, APC, APM, MOM or MES systems

• Experience working directly with customers in process industries (Mining, Pulp & Paper, Metals)

• Proficiency in English (Spanish is a plus for LATAM-wide roles)

• Availability for regional travel within Latin America as required by project scope

Nice to Have / Differentiators

• Experience with ABB Ability™ platform or other IIoT/industrial analytics tools

• Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts applied to OT/industrial environments

• PMP certification or equivalent project management methodology experience

• Hands-on experience with IT/OT integration and data-driven operational improvement initiatives

• Fluency in both Portuguese and Spanish
