<p>The SpaceX Hospitality team serves employees, customers, government partners, potential clients, and visitors with snacks, daily meals, and full-service events. The Food Service Specialist is a team-oriented role for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments while working collaboratively or independently. They must be familiar with basic customer service principles and have a firm understanding of food and beverage safety principles. This role requires identifying and using equipment such as soda machines, hot- and cold-food holding and storage, basic restaurant/catering equipment, serving utensils, and small wares. Individuals must handle task ownership flexibly, switching tasks throughout the day as needed. Daily duties may change on short notice based on staffing and business needs, including but not limited to serving guests, meal production, supporting orders and inquiries, maintaining dining space cleanliness, stocking and distributing products, taking inventory, and setting up/working stations at various outlets per leadership specifications. This position supports SpaceX’s mission by delivering excellent customer service, fostering a welcoming atmosphere, providing flexible support, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, and producing high-quality food and beverages to boost morale and productivity.</p>
<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Set up, maintain, and clean workstations, surrounding areas, dining, work, and storage spaces to ensure safety and organization </li>
<li>Perform cleaning and maintenance on departmental tools, equipment, and food service areas (including but not limited to beverage stations, coolers, and hot holding units) </li>
<li>Complete daily record keeping, tasks, and opening/closing checklists </li>
<li>Meet time and quality standards set by leadership while working with urgency </li>
<li>Engage customers, fulfill orders, and demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills (including menu changes) </li>
<li>Assist with catering and event requests </li>
<li>Adhere to proper safety guidelines and food safety/sanitation practices </li>
<li>Interact professionally with guests, supervisors, and co-workers</li>
<li>Support proper product rotation, storage, and delivery according to food safety requirements </li>
<li>Follow stocking routes, track inventory, and receive/distribute products around the site</li>
<li>Participate in the training of additional Hospitality roles and responsibilities as instructed by leadership </li>
<li>Start of site-based responsibilities (if applicable)</li>

<p><strong>POSITION DETAILS:</strong></p>
<p>This is a <strong>temporary</strong> position with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.</p>

<li>LENGTH OF POSITION: 3 months (permanent hire conversion based on performance and business need)</li>
<li>LOCATION: Brownsville, TX</li>

<p><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalency certificate</li>
<li>1+ years of experience in food preparation, customer service, or other food services support role</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>3+ years of experience in food preparation, customer service, or other food services support roles</li>
<li>Self-motivated and takes initiative in a dynamic, fast-paced environment </li>
<li>Previous work experience in a high-volume output environment </li>
<li>Previous work experience in team settings </li>
<li>Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills </li>
<li>Effective time management skills </li>
<li>Effective understanding of food safety and sanitation practices </li>
<li>Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office primarily)</li>
<li>Familiarity with allergen identification and common dietary restrictions</li>
<li>High level of professionalism</li>
<li>Experience in a corporate environment</li>
<li>Basic understanding of beer and wine service</li>
<li>Knowledge of different styles of service</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Must be willing to travel to various SpaceX locations for mission critical projects</li>
<li>Must have or obtain TX Food Handlers card (training provided internally as needed)</li>
<li>Valid state issued driver’s license</li>
<li>Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime, weekends and holiday(s) as needed</li>
<li>Stand: Up to 10 hours per day</li>
<li>Sit: Up to 1 hour</li>
<li>Push/Pull: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 1-2 hours per day</li>
<li>Overhead reach: Up to 6 hours per day</li>
<li>Walk: Up to 10 hours per day</li>
<li>Lift/Carry: Up to 25lbs. (unassisted) 1-2 hours per day</li>
<li>Climb (ladder/stairs): Up to 3 hours per day</li>
<li>Kneel/Crouch: Up to 6 hours per day</li>
<li>Upper body twist: Up to 6 hours per day</li>
