ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, POWER SYSTEMS</strong></p>
<p>As a member of the construction projects team, you will work with engineers across multiple disciplines in the design, procurement, and build of infrastructure at our College Station facility. This is a hands-on role responsible for the planning and execution of new facility construction and renovation projects with emphasis on power systems. You will work with construction project managers, facility engineers, designers, vendors, and internal partners/customers to support these goals. You will have the opportunity to drive positive change and own projects from start to finish with the goal of making the SpaceX campus a world-class facility. This position is based in College Station, TX.</p>
<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate and grow with a multi-disciplinary infrastructure project team by performing power-specific engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities for a variety of critical and fast-paced company projects</li>
<li>Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for manufacturing, industrial, and commercial type projects</li>
<li>Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out</li>
<li>Coordinate with electrical utility provider for design/engineering to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure</li>
<li>Interact with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and project stakeholders</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology</li>
<li>5+ years of professional experience with the design and/or build of commercial or industrial power systems</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>5+ years of years of professional experience in a similar role with electrical and power distribution systems (<600Vac)</li>
<li>Professional Engineering (PE) license</li>
<li>Working knowledge of delta/wye transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, building lighting, building construction specifications, and facility grounding</li>
<li>Experience with critical power infrastructure including UPS systems, backup generators, and automatic transfer switches</li>
<li>Experience creating and implementing process/design solutions with minimal impact on business operations</li>
<li>AutoCAD/Revit – beginner to intermediate skill level</li>
<li>Familiarity with the National Electric Code, National Fire Protection Association, and International Building Code</li>
<li>Ability to read and understand power and control schematics and technical equipment operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals</li>
<li>Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs), industrial pumps, MODBUS communication, medium-voltage distribution and control panel design and production</li>
<li>Ability to quickly assess an issue and assist technicians with troubleshooting and repair</li>
<li>Working knowledge of power coordination and arc flash </li>
</ul>
<p><strong>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Physical ability to perform hands-on work in various environments, including heat, cold, rain, and tight quarters</li>
<li>Ability to work onsite at our College Station, TX facility (Remote work not considered)</li>
<li>Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed</li>
<li>Ability to travel as needed</li>
<li>Valid driver's license</li>
<li>Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted</li>
