<p>As a member of the construction projects team, you will work with a group of elite engineers and project managers, across multiple disciplines to design, build, and activate infrastructure for a variety of projects at our College Station facility. This is a hands-on role that is responsible for the planning and execution of new facility construction and renovation projects with emphasis on heavy civil and utility components. You will work with facility engineers, designers, vendors, and internal partners/customers to support these goals. You will have the opportunity to drive positive change and own projects from start to finish, with the goal of making the SpaceX campus a world-class facility. This position is based in College Station, TX.</p>
<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Oversee and own the full lifecycle of civil, structural, and utility-related projects to achieve on-time and under-budget delivery with customer satisfaction</li>
<li>Provide guidance and input on preliminary scope/customer requests, including rough order of magnitude (ROM) costs</li>
<li>Gather proposals from architects, engineers, vendors, or contractors</li>
<li>Evaluate competitive bids as appropriate</li>
<li>Review proposals for accuracy, identify and track cost-saving suggestions or improvements</li>
<li>Recommend the best path of action</li>
<li>Develop the final cost and schedule for the project</li>
<li>Implement controls as needed to track and manage cost, schedule, and scope</li>
<li>Write and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out</li>
<li>Facilitate city, county, building owner, and governmental approvals</li>
<li>Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real-time</li>
<li>Track and approve invoicing of work</li>
<li>Manage all aspects of multi-discipline construction projects in the field</li>
<li>Coordinate with end user and facilities team for building operations and maintenance</li>
<li>Manage night shift/early morning contractors as project work requires</li>
<li>Take on new projects ad-hoc as the business needs</li>
<li>Manage tools, documentation, and folder systems relating to the organization of our construction projects</li>
<li>Interact with contractors, fabricators, and internal customers</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, or an engineering related discipline and 5+ years of professional experience in construction, engineering, or facilities management; OR 10+ years of professional experience in construction, engineering, or facilities management in lieu of a degree</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>2+ years of experience in personnel leadership role or project management role for civil, utility, or facility-related construction</li>
<li>1+ year of demonstrated hands-on experience in the construction field</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations; ability to mark up and highlight coordination items</li>
<li>Basic proficiency with modern survey equipment such as GPS and Total Stations</li>
<li>Experience with project management of major construction projects including estimating, cost control, schedule, and contractor management</li>
<li>Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance</li>
<li>Strategic facilities planning, technical design, or value engineering experience</li>
<li>Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management software/task tracking software</li>
<li>Proficient knowledge of PDF editor software such as Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat</li>
<li>Basic proficiency with AutoCAD</li>
<li>Knowledge of processes of jurisdictional permitting and/or environmental agencies</li>
<li>Experience working with vendors of multiple disciplines such as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, geotechnical, and surveying</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Physical ability to perform hands-on work in various environments, including heat, cold, rain, and tight quarters</li>
<li>Ability to work onsite at our College Station, TX facility (remote work not considered)</li>
<li>Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed</li>
<li>Ability to travel as needed</li>
<li>Valid driver's license</li>
<li>Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted</li>
