Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.</p></div><p><strong>SR. CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER</strong></p>
<p>As a critical member of the Texas Construction Projects team, you will work with a group of elite engineers and specialists across multiple disciplines to design, build, and activate infrastructure for a variety of projects at Starbase as well as other SpaceX facilities. This role is responsible for the design, build, and activation of infrastructure, facility improvements, and large capital projects. You will have the opportunity to drive positive changes in a fast-paced and low-drag environment. This includes owning tasks/projects from start to finish, with the goal of making the SpaceX campus a world-class facility that can support the mission of enabling life beyond Earth. This position is based in South Texas (Brownsville/South Padre area).</p>
<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Oversee and own the full lifecycle of multidisciplinary construction projects to achieve on-time and under-budget delivery with customer satisfaction. The following project management responsibilities are applicable:</li>
<ul>
<li>Provide guidance and input on preliminary scope/customer requests, including ROM costs</li>
<li>Gather proposals from architects, engineers, vendors, or contractors</li>
<li>Evaluate competitive bids as appropriate</li>
<li>Review proposals for accuracy, identify and track cost-saving suggestions or improvements</li>
<li>Recommend the best path of action</li>
<li>Develop the final cost and schedule for the project</li>
<li>Implement controls as needed to track and manage cost, schedule, and scope</li>
<li>Write and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out</li>
<li>Facilitate city, county, and regulatory approvals</li>
<li>Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real-time</li>
<li>Manage the overall site safety and environmental requirements for contractors</li>
<li>Track and approve invoicing of work</li>
</ul>
<li>Manage all aspects of multi-discipline construction projects in the field</li>
<li>Coordinate with end user and facilities team for building operations and maintenance</li>
<li>Manage night shift/early morning contractors as project work requires</li>
<li>Take on new projects ad-hoc as the business needs</li>
<li>Manage tools, documentation, and folder systems relating to the organization of our construction projects</li>
<li>Interact with contractors, fabricators, and internal customers</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management</li>
<li>8+ years of professional experience in engineering, architecture, or construction management</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations; ability to mark up and highlight coordination items</li>
<li>Ability to operate basic earthmoving equipment</li>
<li>Basic proficiency with modern survey equipment such as global positioning systems (GPS) and Total Stations</li>
<li>Experience with project management of major construction projects including estimating, cost control, schedule, and contractor management</li>
<li>Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance</li>
<li>Ability to manage priorities and multiple projects at once</li>
<li>Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while maintaining a high sense of urgency in a high-paced, challenging work environment</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and in a team, take initiative, and communicate effectively</li>
<li>Previous experience with project management and scheduling software</li>
<li>Strategic facilities planning, technical design, or value engineering experience</li>
<li>Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management software/task tracking software</li>
<li>Proficient knowledge of portable document format (PDF) editor software such as Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat</li>
<li>Basic proficiency with AutoCAD</li>
<li>Knowledge of processes of jurisdictional permitting and/or environmental agencies</li>
<li>Understanding and ability to interact with vendors of multiple disciplines such as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, geotechnical, and surveying</li>
<li>Bilingual in English and Spanish</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Anticipated hours for this position are 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM</li>
<li>Must be available to work extended hours and weekends when needed based on site operational needs; flexibility is required</li>
<li>Ability to work at elevated heights, in outdoor environments (heat, cold, rain, snow)</li>
<li>Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying moderately heavy materials or equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted)</li>
<li>Ability to work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise</li>
<li>Ability to provide on-call support in emergency situations</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to work independently</li>
<li>Occasional travel may be required based on specific projects; travel requirement is up to 15%</li>
<li>Valid driver's license </li>
