Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.</p></div><p><strong>CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER, MEP</strong></p>
<p>As a member of the construction projects team, you will work with elite engineers and project managers across multiple disciplines to design, build, and commission critical infrastructure for a variety of projects at SpaceX’s Rocket Development Facility in McGregor, Texas, as well as other SpaceX facilities. This hands-on role is responsible for the planning and execution of new facility construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects with a specialized focus on commercial and industrial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. You will own projects from start to finish to support high-power rocket engine testing, test stand activation, and world-class industrial facilities that enable rapid development and iteration. This position is based in McGregor, TX.</p>
<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead the project team, consulting engineers, and contractors throughout the entire mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning process</li>
<li>Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial projects</li>
<li>Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out</li>
<li>Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time</li>
<li>Coordinate with the electrical utility provider on design and engineering to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure</li>
<li>Collaborate with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and internal stakeholders</li>
<li>Track and approve contractor invoicing</li>
<li>Ensure contractors adhere to site safety standards and OSHA requirements</li>
<li>Manage night shift and early morning contractors as project needs dictate</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management with 3+ years of experience working in the field on construction projects, or 7+ years of equivalent professional experience in construction, engineering, or facilities management in lieu of a degree</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Significant experience with electrical and power distribution systems (<600V AC), including 480V down to 120V and DC systems</li>
<li>Working knowledge of delta/wye transformers, building lighting systems, construction specifications, and facility grounding</li>
<li>Knowledge of HVAC operation and design principles, including refrigeration, chillers, boilers, and air-handling equipment</li>
<li>Experience with plumbing design and operation, including domestic water, wastewater, venting, and storm systems</li>
<li>Experience with critical power infrastructure, including UPS systems, backup generators, and automatic transfer switches</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process design solutions with minimal impact to ongoing operations</li>
<li>Strong ability to manage priorities and multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision</li>
<li>Ability to quickly assess issues and support technicians with troubleshooting and repair</li>
<li>Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, high-concentration environment with extended work hours and tight deadlines</li>
<li>Acute attention to detail and strong systems-thinking ability to anticipate and avoid problems</li>
<li>Experience using AutoCAD or Revit</li>
<li>Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC), ASHRAE standards, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes, International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), and International Building Code (IBC)</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Ability to work at elevated heights (200+ feet)</li>
<li>Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying moderately heavy materials or equipment (up to 25 lbs. unassisted)</li>
<li>Exposure to extreme outdoor environments (heat, cold, rain)</li>
<li>Work in environments requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise</li>
<li>Must be available to work extended hours and weekends when needed based on site operational requirements; flexibility required</li>
<li>Must be able to climb ladders and work in tight/confined spaces</li>
<li>Valid driver’s license</li>
<li>Occasional travel may be required to support projects at other sites (up to 15%)</li>
