Your first focus will be the Affinity System, which powers how people save and organize the things they care about on Roblox: a unified affinity system covering Saves, Collections, and Wishlists, replacing today's fragmented Favorites experience. You'll work across the stack, from backend APIs and data models to cross-platform React based UI solutions.</p> <p><strong>You Will</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and build the backend APIs and services, covering collections, items, pagination, and batching, that power Saves, Collections, and Wishlists</li> <li>Lead the migration from Favorites to Saved without losing user data, across web, mobile, desktop, console, and VR</li> <li>Build user facing surfaces, including the Saved Library and Collections pages, in partnership with Product and Design</li> <li>Design for privacy and safety, so users only see content and Collections they're allowed to view</li> <li>Extend the system to new entity types as the platform grows</li> </ul> <p><strong>You Have</strong></p> <ul> <li>3+ years of experience building full-stack systems, including backend, APIs, and frontend applications at scale.</li> <li>Experience with React, TypeScript/JavaScript or similar</li> <li>Experience with data modeling for systems with complex relationships, such as privacy and visibility rules</li> </ul> <p><strong>You Are</strong></p> <ul> <li>Systems thinker: strong understanding of client server architecture, data modeling, and API design at scale.</li> <li>Analytical: tackles ambiguous problems, like moderation, eligibility, and migration edge cases, systematically.</li> <li>Collaborative: thrives in cross functional environments and enjoys mentoring.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand.
