Working closely with mentors and product, design, data, and backend engineers, you’ll learn how large-scale systems operate and use modern AI-assisted tools to help build new technologies, features, and tools. Expect real projects, supportive teammates, and plenty of opportunities to explore ideas that make a difference for our teams and Pinners.<br><br></p>
<p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrate accountability and quality in your work while receiving support and guidance from your mentor, manager, and peers</li>
<li>Execute scoped technical tasks end-to-end to help build the future of Pinterest</li>
<li>Deliver code that is well-documented, tested, and operable</li>
<li>Leverage <strong>AI tools</strong> in your daily engineering workflow to accelerate delivery—brainstorming approaches, writing and refining code, and producing clear documentation</li>
<li>Communicate ideas and perspectives with candor as you grow professionally through learning and development opportunities</li>
<li>Collaborate with your team and contribute to real projects that impact Pinterest</li>
<li><strong>Engage with</strong> leaders and employees across Pinterest and <strong>participate in</strong> a variety of optional company events<br><br></li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What we’re looking for:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Currently enrolled</strong> in a degree or education program working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or a related technical field</li>
<li>On track to graduate by <strong>June 2029</strong></li>
<li>Ability to demonstrate an understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms</li>
<li>Familiarity using <strong>AI as a learning, productivity, </strong>and<strong> engineering tool</strong>, and as an iterative coding partner, to accelerate engineering work while exercising strong judgment around accuracy, security, and when to ask for help</li>
<li>Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or C++, and familiarity with relevant frameworks, tools, or technologies such as React or similar. Technical requirements vary by team.</li>
<li>Non-academic coding experience (e.g., <strong>hackathons</strong>, code challenges, personal projects, GitHub, open source, volunteer coding experience, conference participation, etc.)</li>
<li>Passion for Pinterest, comfort with ambiguity, and a growth mindset with a willingness to continuously learn<br><br></li>

<li>For this role, some interns will work in a hybrid model (commutable distance to one of our offices, with in-person collaboration approximately 1–2 times per week), and some will work fully remote within approved locations. Specific location and work style (hybrid or remote) will be confirmed during the interview and offer process.</li>
