<p>Our client is a leading European online car marketplace, serving 30M+ monthly users across 18 countries.</p>
<p>As a Senior/Lead FullStack Engineer:</p>
<ul>
<li>You will play a key technical leadership role within the client’s engineering organization. You will design, build, and evolve scalable backend services and user-facing features across our product suite.</li>
<li>You will contribute across a polyglot stack that includes <strong>PHP (Laravel), JavaScript, and TypeScript</strong>, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver robust, maintainable, and secure solutions.</li>
<li>This role requires a high level of proficiency in using AI tools in day-to-day software development. AI-assisted workflows are not optional—they are an expected part of how we design, implement, test, debug, document, and optimize software. As a Senior/ Lead engineer, you will also help elevate your team’s AI capabilities by modeling effective usage patterns and sharing best practices.</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>What You'll Do</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Architect, design, and implement scalable services and product features using PHP (Laravel)</li>
<li>Build and maintain frontend features using JavaScript and TypeScript</li>
<li>Use AI tools extensively for code generation, refactoring, test creation, debugging, performance optimization, and documentation</li>
<li>Critically evaluate AI-generated outputs to ensure correctness, security, maintainability, and alignment with architectural standards</li>
<li>Lead technical design discussions and contribute to system and API architecture decisions</li>
<li>Own complex features end-to-end, from technical design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration</li>
<li>Drive improvements in code quality, performance, reliability, and security</li>
<li>Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with strong automated test coverage</li>
<li>Conduct in-depth code reviews and mentor engineers through actionable feedback</li>
<li>Coach teammates on effective and responsible AI usage in software engineering workflows</li>
<li>Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions</li>
<li>Contribute to cloud infrastructure and services (AWS), ensuring high availability and operational excellence</li>
<li>Participate in compensated on-call rotations to ensure platform reliability</li>
<li>Champion DevOps best practices, CI/CD improvements, and observability standards</li>
<li>Identify and lead technical initiatives that improve long-term platform sustainability</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>6-8 years of extensive professional experience in backend software development</li>
<li>Strong expertise in <strong>PHP and Laravel </strong>(6+ years)</li>
<li>Proficiency in <strong>JavaScript and TypeScript</strong> for modern frontend development</li>
<li>Demonstrated advanced <strong>proficiency using AI tools</strong> in day-to-day engineering work (code generation, debugging, test automation, documentation, architectural exploration)</li>
<li>Strong ability to validate, refine, and productionize AI-assisted outputs</li>
<li>Experience improving team-level engineering practices</li>
<li>Deep understanding of API design, distributed systems, and scalable architecture patterns</li>
<li>Experience working with <strong>AWS or similar</strong> cloud environments</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of <strong>CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices</strong></li>
<li>Experience designing and optimizing relational databases and data models</li>
<li>Proven ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives</li>
<li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity</li>
<li>Clear and effective communication skills</li>
<li>Participate in compensated on-call rotations to ensure reliability of our backend services</li>
<li><strong>Canadian timezone working hours</strong></li>
<li>English proficiency at B2/C1 level or higher.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p>

<li>Experience integrating AI capabilities into production products (e.g., LLM integrations, AI-driven features, intelligent workflows)</li>
<li>Experience designing AI-enabled user experiences or backend AI services</li>
<li>Experience in automotive, dealer software, or SaaS platforms</li>
<li>Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)</li>
