<p><strong>What You’ll Be Building</strong><br>At <strong>KnowBe4</strong>, we recognize that cybersecurity has always been a human problem. Our <strong>Human Risk Management </strong>platform uses intelligent, adaptive systems to help people and AI agents recognize and respond to threats, turning human behavior from the weakest link into the strongest defense.<br>As a <strong>Software Engineer - Intern,</strong> you’ll help in developing new AI and data powered products and features for KnowBe4’s platform, collaborating with other engineers in a fast-paced, agile development environment.</p>
<p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong><br>● <strong>AI Development:</strong> Build and integrate AI-powered backend features that adapt and learn in production.<br>● <strong>APIs & Pipelines:</strong> Extend APIs and data workflows that connect models to real users.<br>● <strong>LLM Integration:</strong> Apply best practices in prompt/context design, orchestration, and RAG.<br>● <strong>NLP:</strong> Proficiency in NLP techniques for text analysis, sentiment analysis, entity recognition, and topic modeling.<br>● <strong>Data Science & Machine Learning:</strong> Understand and analyze data, perform EDA, build comprehensive features. Work with unsupervised Learning, Random Forest, XGBoost<br>● <strong>Collaboration: </strong>Partner with senior engineers and product teams to deliver secure, scalable systems.<br>● <strong>Craftsmanship:</strong> Write clean, tested code and uphold best practices for reviews and deployment.<br>● <strong>Growth:</strong> Keep learning! Share ideas, explore new AI tools, and raise the bar for the team.</p>
<p><strong>What You Bring</strong><br>You’re the kind of engineer who loves learning new technologies, takes pride in code quality, and wants to build and own high-quality production AI systems at scale.<br>● Pursuing a Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with electives/specialization in AI/Data Science/Machine learning.<br>● Strong <strong>Python</strong> skills and experience with modern web/API frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.<br>● <strong>Curiosity for AI/ML</strong> - you’ve explored LLMs, orchestration frameworks, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).</p>
<p><strong>Bonus points if you have:</strong></p>
<p>● Experience with <strong>data processing tools</strong> (PySpark, Pandas, or Polars).<br>● <strong>Fine-tuning experience: </strong>you've adapted models like DeBERTa, BERT, or RoBERTa for domain-specific tasks<br>● Familiarity with <strong>CI/CD pipelines</strong> (we use <strong>GitLab</strong>) and infrastructure-as-code (we use<strong> Terraform</strong>).<br>● A habit of turning new discoveries into <strong>reusable knowledge </strong>for the team.</p>
