You will be the founding member of a new design team and will have the opportunity to shape early design practices and standards. You will own the end-to-end experience for our suite of products, define the design system and interaction standards others build against, and partner directly with Product, Engineering, and Innovation leadership to shape the roadmap. This is a hands-on craft role with organization-wide influence and internal thought leadership.</span></p> <h2><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">What You Will Do:</span></h2> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Own the end-to-end user experience, from problem framing and concept exploration through high-fidelity design and production handoff</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Set and evolve the design language, component library, and interaction patterns used across the product portfolio, establishing foundational practices and frameworks for the organization</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Lead discovery and definition on ambiguous, high-stakes problems, translating business objectives and user research into clear design strategy</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Partner with Product Management and Engineering leadership to influence roadmap priorities, scope, and technical trade-offs</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Work closely with engineering teams to understand constraints and make tradeoffs, helping define feature details decomposed into stories</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Plan and interpret user research and usability testing in partnership with our go-to-market organization; validate design decisions with qualitative and quantitative signals</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Serve as the trusted advisor to executive leadership on design maturity and UX priorities, and represent design in executive reviews, articulating rationale, trade-offs, and measurable impact to senior stakeholders</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Identify and resolve systemic UX debt, inconsistency, and friction across the product surface</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Mentor and upskill engineers and product managers on UX fundamentals and craft, raising the design fluency of the organization</span></li> </ul> <h2><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">What You Will Bring:</span></h2> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">15+ years of professional UX/UI or product design experience, including 3+ years at a Staff, Principal, or equivalent senior IC level</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Portfolio demonstrating shipped, end-to-end work on complex B2B enterprise products, both browser-based and mobile with clear articulation of problems, processes, and outcomes</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Practical experience designing products from zero to MVP</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Expert command of interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and prototyping</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Demonstrated ownership of a design system at scale, including governance, adoption, and contribution models</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Fluency in Figma and modern design/prototyping tooling; working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and front-end constraints sufficient to collaborate credibly with engineers</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Proven track record of influencing product strategy and cross-functional roadmaps without formal authority</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tell a compelling story around design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences</span></li> </ul> <h2><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Compensation &amp; Benefits:</span></h2> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">The benefits listed below may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Impinj and the country where you work.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">The typical base pay range for this role across the US is&nbsp;<strong>$185,000 - $277,600</strong>. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties, requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Both market wage data and the mid-point of the pay range is reviewed and used as the starting point for all new hire offers. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.</span><br><br><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">At Impinj certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
