Associate Database Administrator (SQL Server, Oracle)

<p>Exadel is seeking an Associate Database Administrator to support database infrastructure and operations within a critical financial-services environment.</p> <p>This role is suited to an organized, communicative, and proactive professional with strong critical-thinking skills and a sense of urgency. The customer develops secure digital banking platforms and financial solutions to serve a diverse global client base.</p> <p><strong>Work Type:</strong> Hybrid, with on-site attendance twice per week<br><strong>Working Hours:</strong> 10:00 p.m.–10:00 a.m.<br><strong>Schedule:</strong> 12x36 rotation</p> <h3>What You’ll Do</h3> <ul> <li>Plan, develop, and execute technical support activities for users and database infrastructure</li> <li>Provide database support remotely and on-site as required</li> <li>Register, analyze, diagnose, prioritize, and resolve database-related requests and incidents</li> <li>Provide users with technical guidance, clarification, and status updates</li> <li>Troubleshoot database issues and escalate critical incidents when necessary</li> <li>Support database implementations, migrations, upgrades, and technology-transfer activities</li> <li>Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure database stability and availability</li> <li>Monitor the performance, capacity, health, and availability of database management systems</li> <li>Identify potential performance, storage, security, and availability issues before they affect operations</li> <li>Administer and configure SQL Server and Oracle environments following established standards</li> <li>Support backup, restoration, storage, recovery, and contingency procedures</li> <li>Apply database security requirements and access-control best practices</li> <li>Meet established SLAs for response times, escalations, incident resolution, and downtime notifications</li> <li>Support production, testing, and development environments</li> <li>Update and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational records</li> <li>Collaborate with infrastructure, development, security, and support teams</li> <li>Participate in knowledge-sharing and continuous-improvement activities</li> </ul> <h3>What You Bring</h3> <ul> <li>Previous experience or practical knowledge of database administration</li> <li>Experience supporting production, testing, and development environments</li> <li>Working knowledge of both SQL Server and Oracle</li> <li>Understanding of database administration, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring</li> <li>Knowledge of backup and storage solutions</li> <li>Understanding of backup, restoration, recovery, and contingency strategies</li> <li>Familiarity with database security requirements, access controls, and administration best practices</li> <li>Understanding of database performance and capacity monitoring</li> <li>Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and determine the appropriate priority and escalation path</li> <li>Strong organizational and critical-thinking skills</li> <li>Proactive approach and strong sense of urgency</li> <li>Good communication, engagement, and collaboration skills</li> <li>Ability to work independently and as part of a technical support team</li> <li>Availability to work the overnight 12x36 rotation</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field</li> </ul> <h3>Nice to have</h3> <ul> <li>Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB</li> <li>Exposure to cloud environments, preferably AWS</li> <li>Knowledge of Shell, PowerShell, Unix, or other scripting technologies</li> <li>SQL Server or Oracle certifications</li> <li>Experience working in banking, capital markets, or another highly regulated environment</li> <li>Familiarity with IT service-management processes and SLA-based support</li> <li>English or Spanish language skills</li> <li>Knowledge or experience using AI tools to support technical or operational activities</li> </ul> <h3>English level</h3> <p>Intermediate</p> <h3>Legal &amp; Hiring Information</h3> <ul> <li>Exadel is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to inclusion across minority, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, and more</li> <li>Reasonable accommodations are available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions</li> <li>Please note: this job description is not exhaustive.
