<p><strong>Location:</strong> Madrid, Spain (Hybrid: 4 days in office / 1 day remote)</p>
<p>At <strong>Ebury</strong>, our ambitious strategic growth plan is powered by data. We are seeking a <strong>Senior Data Engineer</strong> to join our <strong>Data Platform team</strong> in Madrid.</p>
<p>Our mission is to build, maintain, and continuously evolve Ebury's Data Platform—focusing on scalable, robust, and innovative core frameworks that empower data teams and business units across the entire company.</p>
<h3><strong>What You Will Do</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li><strong>Architect & Scale:</strong> Oversee the end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of a central, high-performance Data Platform used across Ebury.</li>
<li><strong>Drive Innovation:</strong> Explore and integrate emerging technologies and open-source frameworks to expand our data capabilities.</li>
<li><strong>Collaborate & Empower:</strong> Partner with internal stakeholders (Data Scientists, Analytics Engineers, BI leads) to deeply understand platform requirements and deliver actionable solutions.</li>
<li><strong>Govern & Secure:</strong> Establish and enforce data governance, quality standards, and access policies to ensure platform security and reliability.</li>

<h3><strong>Our Tech Stack</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li><strong>Cloud Infrastructure:</strong> Google Cloud Platform (GCP) — BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, GKE</li>
<li><strong>Orchestration & Modeling:</strong> Apache Airflow, dbt, Dimensional & Graph Data Modeling</li>
<li><strong>Engineering Tools:</strong> Python, SQL, Docker, CI/CD, Git, Open Source Tooling</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>What We Are Looking For</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Proven experience designing, building, and operating production data platforms, data lakes, and cloud data warehouses at scale.</li>
<li>Advanced proficiency in <strong>Python</strong> (for data transformation, validation, and tooling) and <strong>SQL</strong> (for large-scale query optimization).</li>
<li>Deep expertise in traditional modeling for both structured and unstructured data. <em>(Graph database modeling is a strong plus!)</em></li>
<li>Hands-on experience with <strong>GCP</strong> or equivalent cloud ecosystems (BigQuery, serverless compute, containerization).</li>
<li>Self-motivated, highly curious, and proactive about staying on the bleeding edge of data architecture and open-source practices.</li>
<li>Professional fluency in English. <em>(Spanish is a plus!)</em></li>
