<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>Build the software platform that connects kitchen teams, cloud services, and robotic production systems. As a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will own significant product and technical areas from definition through production. You will work across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, integrations, and robot-adjacent interfaces. You will partner closely with product, culinary, operations, robotics, firmware and mechanical teams to turn ambiguous operational problems into reliable software. </p>
<p>We are looking for someone who remains deeply hands-on while providing technical leadership like shaping architecture, raising engineering quality, mentoring others, and helping the Los Angeles team scale.</p>

<p><strong>What you'll do</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Own and deliver complex full-stack initiatives spanning user interfaces, backend services, cloud infrastructure, and external integrations.</li>
<li>Lead technical design and architecture for new capabilities, balancing speed, reliability, maintainability, and operational simplicity.</li>
<li>Partner directly with product, culinary, and operations teams to understand workflows, clarify requirements, and define pragmatic solutions.</li>
<li>Build software for configuring, observing, and managing kitchen operations, including order intake, menus, recipes, tasks, alerts, and performance visibility.</li>
<li>Integrate with delivery and commerce platforms to receive orders, synchronize menus, and communicate order state.</li>
<li>Create and integrate operator-facing and robot-adjacent interfaces used in physical production environments.</li>
<li>Work alongside with firmware and robotics engineers to ensure cohesive system functionality</li>
<li>Own projects through rollout and production support, including testing, observability, incident diagnosis, and iterative improvement.</li>
<li>Set a strong example through design reviews, code reviews, technical documentation, and thoughtful engineering tradeoffs.</li>
<li>Mentor engineers, improve development practices, and help establish the technical culture and standards of the Los Angeles team.</li>
<li>Contribute to hiring and technical calibration as the team grows.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>What we are looking for</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>10+ years of strong software engineering experience, including ownership of complex systems or initiatives across multiple components.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to lead technical design and execution in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.</li>
<li>Deep experience in at least one backend language; Go experience is valuable but not required.</li>
<li>Strong frontend engineering skills with modern TypeScript frameworks; Vue experience is helpful but not required.</li>
<li>Experience designing APIs, services, data models, and asynchronous or event-driven workflows.</li>
<li>Strong product judgment and the ability to translate real operational problems into simple, usable software.</li>
<li>A track record of improving architecture, reliability, testing, observability, or developer productivity.</li>
<li>Clear written and verbal communication, including design documents, technical proposals, operational playbooks, and cross-functional alignment.</li>
<li>Comfort working across boundaries and collaborating with both technical and non-technical partners.</li>
<li>Ability to mentor other engineers and influence technical direction without relying on formal authority.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>What else you need to know</strong></p>
<p>This role is based in our Los Angeles<em> </em>office. As a company driven by invention and continuous change - we are constantly reimagining our industries, building new products, and refining how we operate. We do our best work together. That’s why all of our office-based teams work onsite, five days a week.</p>
<p>The base salary range for this role is<strong> $213,000 - $269,250 per year.</strong></p>
<p>Actual compensation will be determined on an individual basis and may vary depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.</p>
<p>Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package. You may also be eligible for equity awards and an annual performance-based bonus.</p>
