We take thoughtful approach to ensure tangible benefits with measurable impact to our customers and empower owners to own.</p> <h2><strong>Your Impact</strong></h2> <p>As an Engineering Manager for the <strong>Shared Customer Experience (Shared CX)</strong> group, you will be at the forefront of delivering complex, core customer experiences that are shared across Axon products. SharedCX builds authentication, authorization, admin, audit experience, and shared front-end components - the backbone that lets every product within Axon achieve consistent and frictionless CX with high quality and eliminate duplicated effort.</p> <h2><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></h2> <p><strong>Work Location: </strong>This role is based out of our Ho Chi Minh City office and follows a hybrid schedule: onsite Tuesday through Friday and remote on Mondays, unless an approved accommodation applies. We place a high value on in-person collaboration and building a strong in-office culture.</p> <p><strong>Reports to:&nbsp;</strong>Engineering Director</p> <p><strong>Direct Reports: </strong>8-12</p> <ul> <li><strong>Lead and develop a SharedCX engineering team</strong> – Manage a team of software engineers and technical leads. Mentor and coach individual creators across seniority, fostering career growth, strong ownership, and a collaborative, inclusive team culture.</li> <li><strong>Drive design and development of ShareCX platforms</strong> – Work with your team to design, build, and maintain ShareCX platform services with a focus on reliability, scalability, and efficiency, and AI agentic-ready.</li> <li><strong>Own team roadmap and strategy</strong> – Define and execute a compelling roadmap for Axon’s shared customer experience. Balance long-term vision with near-term deliverables, and create platforms that dramatically enhance core customer experience, and enable faster adoption of high-quality Axon products.</li> <li><strong>Collaborate across teams to solve problems</strong> – Partner with engineers and leaders from other teams to understand their needs and challenges. Guide them toward standard solutions and best practices for common problems, reducing duplicated effort and ensuring consistency across the organization.</li> <li><strong>Manage priorities and shield your teams</strong> – Act as the interface between your squads and the rest of Axon. Communicate and prioritize incoming requests to protect your teams from randomization, so they can remain focused on the most impactful work. Keep stakeholders informed about progress, risks, and needs, maintaining alignment and transparency.</li> <li><strong>Partner with product/program and design</strong> – Work closely with Product/Program Management, Design, and other engineering groups to align ShareCX initiatives with broader product goals and timelines.</li> <li><strong>Build and scale the team</strong> – Take responsibility for hiring and growing the ShareCX teams as needed. Recruit and retain top engineering talent, and make thoughtful decisions about team composition and structure.</li> <li><strong>Lead by example and uphold Axon’s culture</strong> – Serve as a cultural leader within the engineering org. Model Axon’s values of candor, care, and ownership in all your interactions. Foster an environment of innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement where engineers are empowered to do the best work of their careers.</li> <li><strong>AI</strong> – driving AI adoption as a standard part of how the team plans, builds, and operates, and coaching engineers on effective usage.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>What You Bring</strong></h2> <ul> <li><strong>Education:</strong> Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field</li> <li><strong>Experience:</strong> 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including a proven track record of leading and delivering complex projects or products. You have experience managing engineers (ideally across multiple teams or areas) and driving initiatives from conception to production.</li> <li><strong>Technical Expertise:</strong> A strong technical background in software engineering. You have a deep understanding of software architecture and development practices and can engage in high-level technical discussions. While you won’t be coding daily, you’re capable of reviewing designs, understanding system architecture, and guiding technical decision-making.</li> <li><strong>Leadership &amp; People Management:</strong> Demonstrated success in managing and scaling engineering teams. You have experience hiring talent, coaching engineers, and guiding teams through growth and change. Experience managing other engineering managers or tech leads is a strong plus. You’re comfortable taking responsibility for team performance, including making hard decisions to ensure team success.</li> <li><strong>Communication &amp; Collaboration:</strong> Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You excel at cross-functional collaboration and can coordinate effectively with diverse teams (engineering, product, design, etc.) across different countries, time zones, and cultures.</li> <li><strong>Strategic Mindset:</strong> Ability to think ahead and anticipate future needs while delivering incremental improvements. You can define a long-term vision for developer experience and simultaneously break down goals into achievable steps that provide tangible, measurable impact along the way.</li> <li><strong>Passion for Developer Experience:</strong> A strong interest (and preferably experience) in developer productivity, DevOps, or platform engineering.
