<p><strong>What you’ll do</strong></p>
<p>Our <strong>Menu Platform</strong> (featured on our <a href="https://techblog.citystoragesystems.com/p/multi-channel-multi-location-menu">tech blog</a>) is the central hub for comprehensive menu management. It streamlines operations, enhances the customer experience, and provides a single source of truth for menus across online delivery channels such as DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, etc., and Point-of-Sale (POS) systems such as Square, Toast, Clover, NCR, etc.</p>
<p>Key capabilities include real-time menu updates, channel-specific availability, pricing and tax configuration, ingredients and SKU management, bundling and promotions, A/B testing, and automated syncing between POS and delivery channels. <p>As a <strong>backend-focused Software Engineer</strong>, you will help advance this high-scale, high-impact platform. You will:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Build data-driven features</strong> that power dynamic menu operations.</li>
<li><strong>Contribute to planning and strategy</strong> for tools and internal platforms.</li>
<li><strong>Design, implement, and test</strong> backend services using agile practices.</li>
<li><strong>Collaborate cross-functionally</strong> with engineering, product, and support teams.</li>
<li><strong>Write, debug, and maintain</strong> high-quality code across multiple projects.</li>
<li><strong>Architect scalable systems</strong> capable of supporting large, distributed workloads.</li>
<li><strong>Improve platform reliability</strong>, performance, and developer experience.</li>
<li><strong>Champion innovation</strong> and continuously explore new technologies and approaches.</li>

<p><strong>What we’re looking for</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Education:</strong> Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.</li>
<li><strong>Experience:</strong> 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.</li>
<li><strong>Technical Mastery:</strong></li>
<ul>
<li>Strong background in building <strong>scalable and reliable distributed systems</strong></li>
<li>Experience building <strong>large-scale, high-traffic applications</strong></li>
<li>Proficiency in <strong>Java</strong> and modern backend development practices</li>
</ul>
<li><strong>Architectural Skills:</strong> Ability to design new systems from scratch and evolve existing architectures.</li>
<li><strong>Impact Orientation:</strong> Demonstrated track record of meaningful, high-quality contributions.</li>
<li><strong>Communication:</strong> Clear communicator capable of partnering with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li>

<p><strong>What else you need to know </strong></p>
<p>This role is based in our Mountain View office location. As a company driven by innovation and continuous change, close collaboration is essential. We’re constantly reimagining our industry, creating new products, and refining our processes, and we do our best work together. That’s why all of our office-based teams work onsite, five days a week.</p>
<p>The base starting rate for this role is<strong> $224,000 - $284,000 per year.</strong></p>
<p>Actual compensation will be determined on an individual basis and may vary depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.</p>
<p>Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package. You may also be eligible for equity awards and an annual performance-based bonus.</p>
