This role will be reporting directly to the IT Operations Manager.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Things You Get To Do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own IT support end-to-end—be the reliable go-to for staff, while turning recurring issues into durable fixes and automations</li> <li>Diagnose and resolve complex cross-platform problems across macOS, Windows, and Linux</li> <li>Partner with HR and Security on scalable onboarding and offboarding (access, devices, and lifecycle)</li> <li>Administer MDM platforms (e.g. Jamf, Intune)—including BYOD—harden posture, and improve enrollment and compliance workflows</li> <li>Own patch management: test, validate, and roll out updates safely across the fleet</li> <li>Deploy and secure endpoints and SaaS access in a Zero Trust environment—tighten controls without blocking the business</li> <li>Build and improve automations (scripting, APIs, tools like n8n) for provisioning, access, inventory, and ops workflows</li> <li>Manage device setup, software deployment, hardware shipping/receiving, and the firm’s IT asset inventory</li> <li>Support change management and procurement; collaborate on cloud/IaC-related IT changes where needed</li> <li>Train staff on IT topics and contribute to continuous improvement of systems, docs, and processes</li> <li>Participate in weekend on-call (round-robin) and after-hours response as needed</li> <li>Other related duties as required</li> </ul> <h3>&nbsp;</h3> <p><strong>Who You Are (Must-Haves):</strong></p> <ul> <li>Excited about Alpaca’s mission and what we’re building</li> <li>6+ years in IT operations / systems engineering—you’ve owned, hardened, and improved systems, not just answered tickets</li> <li>Proven solutions builder: reverse-engineers complex issues, ships durable fixes, and continuously improves what you own</li> <li>Strong across macOS, Windows, and Linux, including device lifecycle</li> <li>Hands-on with at least two MDM solutions of the following: Jamf, Kandji, Intune, or comparable enterprise MDM</li> <li>Proven patch management experience—including testing, validation, and controlled rollout—not just pushing updates</li> <li>Experience with Google Workspace, 1Password, enterprise SaaS admin, EDR, and SSO / identity workflows</li> <li>Understands Zero Trust environments with good networking concepts to harden access and endpoints without constraining the business</li> <li>Builds and improves automations (scripting, APIs, workflow tools such as n8n); working fluency in at least two programming/scripting languages</li> <li>Hands-on with cloud (GCP and/or AWS) and IaC (e.g. Terraform)—comfortable in IaC-first environments</li> <li>Self-starter and fast responder in a fast-paced environment; clear communicator and team player across the IT team and other teams (business partners)</li> <li>Based for Eastern Time coverage; available for weekend on-call (round-robin rotation across the team)</li> <li>Fluent English (written and verbal); strong analytical and collaborative skills</li> <li>ATeam player with ownership mentality</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves):</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field</li> <li>IT, security, or cloud certifications</li> <li>Prior ownership of IT automation platforms, workflow tooling, or internal ops repos</li> <li>Experience designing scalable onboarding / access / offboarding automation</li> <li>Background in fintech or other regulated industries; familiarity with financial and privacy controls</li> <li>Business acumen to balance stakeholder urgency, security risk, feasibility, and budget</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><h3><strong>How We Take Care of You:</strong></h3> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Competitive Salary &amp; Stock Options</span></li> <li style="text-align: justify;">Health Benefits</li> <li style="font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">New Hire Home-Office Setup: One-time USD $500</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Monthly Stipend: USD $150 per month via a Brex Card</span></li> </ul> <p><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">Alpaca is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace dedicated to pursuing and hiring a diverse workforce.<br></span></em></p> <p><span style="font-size: 8pt;"><a href="https://files.alpaca.markets/disclosures/AlpacaRecruitmentPrivacyPolicy.pdf"><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">Recruitment Privacy Policy</span></em></a></span></p></div>
