This team plays a critical role in ensuring the regulatory compliance of Adyen's diverse service offerings to protect Adyen and its customers. Team owns the foundational platforms and core services necessary to <strong>establish and maintain a trusted identity for all customers</strong> throughout their lifecycle with Adyen. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects, learn from experienced professionals, and grow your skills in a supportive, cross-functional setting.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p> <p>As a Software Engineer on the Identity &amp; Verification Services team, you will have full ownership of the features you build, from initial design to deployment and live monitoring, acting as a problem-solver shaping a core part of Adyen's integrity platform.</p> <p>Your core responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Design and build solutions</strong> for highly scalable and reliable distributed systems that are central to Adyen’s success.</li> <li>Develop and implement the technology, processes, <strong>Know Your Customer (KYC) data collection; </strong>and<strong> automated verification</strong> across the customer onboarding lifecycle.</li> <li>Contribute to the platform framework that manages the onboarding of legal entities and the integration of identity and verification capabilities.</li> <li>Influence the entire software development lifecycle, from contributing to architectural design and strategic implementation to assisting with testing and deployment.</li> <li>Take <strong>end-to-end ownership</strong>, seeing your work through the development lifecycle.</li> <li>Uphold high standards for system health by implementing <strong>robust monitoring</strong>, defining Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and creating effective alerting.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with your team, Product Managers, Customer Onboarding teams, Merchant Operations, and Regulatory teams to refine and implement your ideas.</li> <li>Develop and implement observability tools to proactively monitor system performance and deliver strategic solutions to enhance system reliability and efficiency.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Who you are:</strong></p> <ul> <li>You have a <strong>strong foundation in Java</strong>, with experience building web services and REST APIs.</li> <li>You have <strong>experience in building and maintaining highly scalable and reliable distributed systems</strong>.</li> <li>You are comfortable with <strong>SQL/PostgreSQL</strong> and understand how to work with databases effectively.</li> <li>You embrace a culture of operational excellence and have a solid grasp of <strong>monitoring best practices, SLOs, and resilience patterns</strong>.</li> <li>You are someone who naturally <strong>takes ownership</strong>, seeking the autonomy to drive your work forward.</li> <li>A strong collaborative spirit, with a history of driving technical discussions and fostering a culture of continuous learning.</li> <li>A strong interest in advanced software development and design patterns, with a focus on scalability and resilience.</li> <li>A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive practical experience.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Experience with event-driven architecture and streaming is a plus.</li> <li>Experience with Cassandra, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Temporal.io and Big Data Platform is a plus.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>Our unique approach is a product of our diverse perspectives.
