Senior Software Engineer, Core Systems

About the Role

Join a small engineering team building backend infrastructure for a healthcare technology platform supporting radiology workflows and AI-assisted diagnosis. You will own foundational systems across data ingestion, storage, and distributed model inference.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and operate backend infrastructure for data ingestion, warehousing, and distributed model inference on AWS.

• Own reliability, observability, debugging, and capacity planning across the stack.

• Build CI/CD and deployment automation to help the team ship safely and efficiently.

• Design systems that handle protected health information with encryption, access controls, and audit logging.

• Work with the machine learning team on infrastructure and model inference pipelines as priorities require.

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience in backend engineering, data infrastructure, or distributed systems.

• Production experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems on AWS or a comparable cloud platform.

• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java, with strong hands-on backend engineering skills.

• Experience with data pipelines, ETL, warehouses or data lakes, schema evolution, and deployment automation.

• Track record leading multi-quarter technical initiatives across systems or teams, along with experience on a small, fast-moving team.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems and weigh performance, cost, security, and maintainability tradeoffs.

• Exposure to machine learning infrastructure or model inference pipelines, HIPAA-compliant system design, and TypeScript or React is valuable.

• A STEM degree or strong computer science fundamentals.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $215,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
