Job Description
General
Lead the definition and delivery of the company's SAP S/4HANA transformation roadmap across a complex, multi-site, and multi-country ERP landscape. The role converts business and technology strategy into an executable migration program covering brownfield conversions, greenfield implementations, and potential system consolidation. This role establishes the business case, implementation sequence, prerequisites, and governance required for successful delivery, while mobilizing local, regional, and global teams and protecting business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA program strategy and roadmap, translating enterprise and regional priorities into an integrated, executable multi-year plan.
- Assess and recommend the appropriate transformation path by landscape or business unit, including brownfield system conversion, greenfield implementation, selective transition, and consolidation scenarios.
- Define the program sequence, phases, milestones, decision gates, critical path, prerequisites, and deployment waves across countries, sites, and SAP landscapes, working closely with the Architecture function.
- Build and execute the integrated program plan across functional design, technical architecture, data, integrations, custom code, security, testing, infrastructure, change, training, cutover, and hypercare.
- Establish program governance, decision rights, reporting cadence, quality gates, KPIs, and steering forums; provide clear executive reporting and recommendations.
- Lead the value case and business case, including scope options, benefits, costs, resource demand, assumptions, trade-offs, and implementation scenarios.
- Maintain active management of risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints (RAID); define mitigations, contingency plans, and recovery actions.
- Mobilize and direct a cross-functional program team spanning local, regional, and global business and IT resources, SAP specialists, process owners, and external system integrators.
- Coordinate SAP functional and technical workstreams and ensure alignment between business process design and enterprise architecture standards.
- Collaborate with the Program Office in following project management standards and budget tracking.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Equivalent senior-level experience in SAP transformation may be considered.
Work Experience
- 12+ years of experience in SAP/ERP transformation and program delivery, including 5+ years in program or portfolio leadership.
- Demonstrated leadership of at least two end-to-end SAP implementations or major transformations, with direct experience in SAP S/4HANA and at least one brownfield conversion.
- Experience in global, multi-country, and multi-site environments, preferably including sales and marketing, supply chain, and regulated/localized operations.
Knowledge and Skills
Mandatory
- Strong working knowledge of SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA functional and technical architecture, including the implications of the simplified data model, Business Partner/CVI, Fiori, custom code, integrations, security, and data migration.
- Proven ability to create an S/4HANA migration roadmap and integrated plan covering discovery, fit-to-standard, design, build, data, testing, cutover, go-live, and hypercare.
- Practical experience with both brownfield and greenfield delivery approaches and the ability to evaluate trade-offs among conversion, reimplementation, and consolidation scenarios.
- Strong program controls across scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, benefits, RAID, dependencies, constraints, change control, and executive reporting.
- Experience leading system integrators and global delivery teams across functional, technical, architecture, data, integration, testing, change, and business workstreams.
- Strong understanding of SAP Activate and relevant readiness and remediation activities, such as SAP Readiness Check, ATC/custom-code analysis, data quality, testing, and cutover planning.
- Executive stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate value cases, business cases, and complex technical choices in business language.
