Kafka Staff Engineer at BairesDev

We are seeking passionate Software Engineers to join our team, focusing on the development of Streams Messaging products, including Apache Kafka and related streaming components. Kafka is a distributed messaging/streaming technology designed for low latency, high throughput, massive scalability, and high reliability. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across global locations.

What You'll Do

• Provide technical leadership for the development of Apache Kafka and related products.
• Design, implement, and release new features for the Streaming Analytics product suite.
• Contribute to a cross-functional software development team ensuring high-quality, secure, and maintainable software.
• Informally manage technical projects, priorities, and resources.
• Collaborate with partner engineering teams to coordinate cross-team project delivery.
• Work with product management and engineering leadership to build and execute product roadmaps.
• Provide support to field teams and customers, facilitating product adoption and implementation.
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, and/or 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proven expertise in architecting scalable and resilient distributed software systems.
• Comprehensive mastery of Java and its broader technological ecosystem.
• Profound insights into software design and architectural best practices.
• Extensive experience with continuous integration, delivery pipeline tools, and automated testing frameworks.
• Demonstrated proficiency with containerization technologies: Kubernetes, Docker.
• Impressive portfolio of sophisticated software development initiatives.
• Intrinsically motivated professional with exceptional technical ownership and craftsmanship.
• Exceptional communication capabilities across technical and collaborative domains.
• Advanced level of English.

• Substantive experience with Apache Kafka.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Practical expertise in Python and/or JavaScript.
