About Our Client

Our client is an international infrastructure project backed by a leading European group specializing in dredging, marine engineering, and port infrastructure.

Based in Paranaguá/PR, Brazil, the project involves the operation, maintenance, and modernization of a major port access channel under a long-term concession. As a pioneering initiative in the Brazilian port sector, it aims to enhance navigational safety, operational efficiency, and the competitiveness of the country’s foreign trade.

About the role

Act as the hands-on financial lead of an international port infrastructure project, taking ownership of day-to-day accounting, financial statements, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, local tax compliance, treasury, and financial controls.

This role is suited to an ambitious accounting professional with strong practical experience who is ready to take the next step into a broader finance management position. The Finance Manager will present financial results and analysis to senior management and the Board of Directors, work closely with operational teams, and coordinate a small finance team.

Responsabilities

Accounting Operations:

• Maintain hands-onoversight of the general ledger,accounts payable and receivable, bank accounting, fixed assets, accruals, provisions, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure complete and accurate accounting records and a disciplined monthlyand year-end closing process, working directly in the accounting where required.

Financial Statements and Reporting

• Lead the preparation of periodic and year-end financialstatements, including consolidation, closing, and reconciliations where applicable.
• Prepare management reportsand KPI packs, and submit them to the General Manager for review and approval before distribution.
• Prepare and presentfinancial results, variances, and outlook to the Board of Directors, translating complex information into clear insights and recommendations.
• Respond to questionsfrom the General Manager and Board, and followup on actions arising from meetings.

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Develop and deliverbudgets and forecastsin agreement with the General Manager, and monitor performance against plan.

Financial Management and Control

• Develop and delivera plan for significant aspectsof the financial management and control process, including month-end and year-end routines.

Financial Policies,Guidelines, and Protocols

• Develop and deliverfinancial guidelines and protocols to ensure the company complieswith regulations and good financial practice.

Local Tax Management

• Coordinate and monitor local tax compliance, including the timely and accurate preparation, review, filing,and payment of applicable directand indirect taxesand statutory obligations.
• Maintain effective workingrelationships with local tax advisers and authorities, support tax audits and inspections, and keep management informed of relevantlegislative changes, tax risks, and required actions.
• Ensure tax positions, balances, and supporting documentation are properlyreflected in the accounting records and financial reporting.

Organizational Risk Management

• Use risk management systems to preventundue risk exposurein the designated area, and flag material risks to the General Manager and Board.

Internal Client Relationship Management

• Actas a business partner to internal clients,building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust,and managing the deployment of appropriate internaland/or external resources to support delivery of business strategy and plans.

Small Team Coordination

• Allocate work, reviewoutput, and coach the smallfinance team so that reporting deadlines and quality standards are met.
