Descrição da vaga
BotCity brings governance to the code AI writes. AI turned asking into code, and every business user is now a developer. The Python they generate runs on corporate workstations outside any pipeline, inventory, or approval flow, and nothing in the enterprise stack was built to see it. BotCity Sentinel governs that code where it runs: a script-level inventory of what executes, where, and by whom, contextual policies that allow, alert, or block, and a remediation loop where the author makes the first fix. Security asks whether code is malicious. Governance asks whether it should run, here, by this person. We built Sentinel to own the second question. Today it's Python. Tomorrow it's every line of code AI writes.
BotCity serves 1,000+ teams in 70+ countries, including customers as Bayer and LG. We raised a $12M Series A led by Four Rivers, with participation from Y Combinator, SoftBank, and founders and investors including Lew Cirne (New Relic), Rod Johnson (SpringSource), and Walter Kortschak (Summit Partners and Firestreak Ventures). G2 named BotCity one of the world's top 25 emerging platforms.
We are a remote company with teams across the US, Canada and LATAM. Small team, large customers, a category forming around us. If you want real ownership over a problem that matters, we should talk.
Role Overview
The Product Owner will drive the execution of BotCity's Orchestrator product, turning strategic direction into a clear, well-prioritized roadmap that strengthens its market leadership and supports its continued growth. This professional will keep a healthy, prioritized backlog, make sure the squad delivers working software every sprint, and lead ongoing improvements to delivery speed, predictability and quality using meaningful metrics. BotCity is looking for a data-driven product professional who is comfortable with ambiguity in a startup setting, cares deeply about delivery quality, and takes full ownership of what ships, earning engineers' trust through clarity and follow-through. The role reports to the Product Manager.
Responsibilities
- Own Orchestrator’s product backlog end-to-end — grooming, prioritization, dependency management, and sprint readiness.
- Ensure 100% of items entering a sprint have clearly defined acceptance criteria, eliminating rework caused by scope ambiguity.
- Frame backlog items as testable hypotheses where appropriate, keeping delivery connected to
- Orchestrator's product goals.
- Lead sprint ceremonies (planning, refinement, review, and retrospectives), adapting agile practices pragmatically to what the team actually needs.
- Translate strategic direction into clear, well-scoped stories, asking the right clarifying questions upfront to prevent rework downstream.
- Proactively initiate and structure discovery work every sprint cycle (user feedback synthesis, assumption mapping, delivery retrospectives), and bring evidence-based recommendations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for requirement clarification during development, unblocking engineers quickly and protecting sprint integrity.
- Define, monitor, and report on delivery health KPIs through Jira, including sprint predictability, defect leakage, and cycle time, giving the BotCity continuous visibility into Orchestrator’s delivery quality.
- Contribute actively to roadmap and product direction conversations, bringing a grounded, delivery-informed perspective to strategic discussions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- Prior experience (3+ years) in product ownership or a closely adjacent role in a tech company, ideally operating as the primary or sole PO on a product.
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle — from code changes flowing through development, staging, and production environments, through QA evaluation and release.
- Proven ability to independently own a full product backlog, including stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies and prioritization.
- Solid experience running Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Proficient with Jira for project, backlog and sprint management.
- Prior experience in an early-stage, high-growth, and fast-paced startup environment.
- Experience working with MS Office/Excel, Google Suite, Notion.
- Drives projects to completion with accountability, and takes calculated risks with the customer in mind.
- Starts from customer needs and works backwards, systematically managing tasks, resources and priorities to meet objectives.
- Communicates proactively, clearly and concisely, respectfully challenges decisions and commits fully once they're made, and actively seeks, gives and acts on feedback.
- Portuguese - Fluent.
- English - Advanced.
- Ability to travel as needed to support events and meet the team.
- Experience working in the B2B SaaS market.
- Exposure to enterprise software, automation, AI agents, or developer-facing products.
- Familiarity with product analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Amplitude, Metabase).
- Working familiarity with GitHub or version control workflows.
