Descrição da vaga
The Resource: Production Engine Assembly, Vehicle assembly, Fabrication, Paint shop and machining is responsible for achieving the production targets of vehicles (as per model mix) in adherence to quality, safety and cost standards. The incumbent will work to deliver production targets of the vehicle to the Outbound Logistics team as per PPC plan.
1. Production Execution
- Supervise and control day-to-day production activities within the assigned production area/line to achieve planned volume, quality, productivity and delivery targets.
- Execute the production plan in coordination with PPC and the Production Manager.
- Allocate manpower, workstations and resources to achieve shift-wise production requirements.
- Monitor line performance, cycle time, line balance and production output throughout the shift.
- Ensure adherence to approved standard operating procedures, work instructions, process parameters and production standards.
2. Safety & Shop-Floor Discipline
- Ensure a safe, clean and disciplined working environment across the assigned production area.
- Enforce compliance with applicable safety procedures, PPE requirements, statutory requirements and standard operating practices.
- Identify unsafe conditions and behaviours and initiate immediate corrective actions.
- Conduct and participate in daily safety briefings, toolbox talks and safety observations.
- Escalate serious safety risks and incidents to the Production Manager and relevant Safety/HR functions.
3. Quality Control
- Ensure production is carried out in accordance with quality standards, control plans, SOPs and inspection requirements.
- Monitor process quality and respond immediately to defects, abnormalities and customer-critical issues.
- Coordinate with Quality to contain non-conforming products and prevent recurrence.
- Ensure proper segregation and control of rejected, reworked and suspect material.
- Support root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
4. Equipment & Maintenance Coordination
- Monitor equipment and line availability and minimize production losses caused by breakdowns, minor stoppages and equipment abnormalities.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Support maintenance planning by providing production requirements and equipment availability information.
- Follow up on breakdown recovery and ensure equipment is safely released back to production.
- Monitor equipment-related losses and contribute to improving OEE.
5. Production Performance & OEE
- Review shift-wise production performance against plan and identify gaps in volume, cycle time, downtime, OEE and productivity.
- Analyse production losses and implement immediate corrective actions within the supervisor’s authority.
- Escalate unresolved production constraints to the Production Manager with a clear recovery plan.
- Maintain accurate production records and ensure timely reporting of shift performance.
6. Manpower & Team Leadership
- Deploy and manage operators according to production requirements, skills and workstation needs.
- Monitor attendance, manpower availability, operator utilization and overtime requirements.
- Develop operator capability through on-the-job training, skill certification and cross-training.
- Build self-directed operating teams and promote ownership of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
- Conduct regular team communication and performance reviews.
7. Productivity & Cost Control
- Identify and reduce production losses arising from downtime, rejection, rework, material wastage, inefficient manpower utilization and process losses.
- Implement approved productivity and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Monitor key production losses and take corrective action to achieve agreed targets.
- Support line balancing, cycle-time improvement and workstation optimization.
8. Continuous Improvement
- Lead and participate in shop-floor improvement activities using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM, TQM and other structured improvement methodologies.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, OEE, ergonomics and process efficiency.
- Support implementation of approved improvement projects within agreed timelines.
- Standardize successful improvements and ensure sustained implementation.
9. New Product / Engineering Change Support
- Support new model introduction, process changes and engineering changes at the shop-floor level.
- Ensure operators are trained and work instructions are updated before implementation of new or revised processes.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Production Management during trial production and production ramp-up.
- Ensure production changes are implemented only against approved documentation.
10. Daily Management & Escalation
- Conduct shift start-up and daily production meetings to review targets, manpower, material availability, equipment status, quality issues and safety concerns.
- Maintain effective communication with PPC, Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, Manufacturing Engineering and other support functions.
- Escalate critical issues promptly to the Production Manager.
- Ensure timely closure of assigned corrective actions.
In order to be successful for this role you will have experience within the Automotive Industry preferably Motorcycle manufacturing sector, and possess 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.
