About MINUM

MINUM ENERGIA (“MINUM”) is a rapidly scaling energy technology company transforming the Brazilian electricity market. We build cutting-edge Virtual Power Plant (VPP) platforms and Behind-the-Meter (BTM) Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) tailored for industrial and SME clients. Our ecosystem leverages IoT hardware and distributed generation to optimize energy consumption, reduce costs, and replace traditional utility.

 

What we are building

Our core system is a Ruby on Rails application running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with BigQuery as the data warehouse behind it. It handles the full customer lifecycle: lead and deal management, contracting and onboarding, consumer unit registration with the DISCOs, energy allocation, invoicing, collections, and cancellation. Around it sits a growing set of services — automated scraping of distribution company portals, document workflows, APIs with service providers and our ERP system (ODOO), and internal reporting (“Phase 1.0”).

We are running two tracks in parallel:

• Phase 1.0 — the Rails platform in production today, running the business day to day. This is the role we are hiring for: keeping it healthy, fast and correct, and continuously upgrading it as the operation grows.
• Phase 1.5 — a system that manages and controls the installed, energy monitor, IoT devices, and distributed energy resources (DERs).

 

The Role

You are the person who makes sure the right thing gets built, in the right order, and actually reaches the people who need it. You sit between our technology team and the operations, commercial and finance teams who use the system every day — translating business problems into scoped work, and translating technical constraints back into terms the business can act on.

This is a hands-on role, not a reporting layer. You will write requirements, run tests, chase blockers, and be accountable for whether a release works when it lands.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

·      Planning and delivery

·      Own the delivery roadmap across system phases: scope, sequence, dependencies and deadlines.

·      Break business requests into clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria.

·      Identify and manage dependencies between Phase 1.0, Phase 1.5 and supporting systems so the tracks do not collide or drift apart.

·      Run sprint planning, prioritisation and release coordination; keep the backlog honest and current.

·      Flag risks and slippage early, with a proposed course of action — not just a status update.

·      Team coordination

·      Coordinate a distributed team working across multiple time zones, including developers based outside Brazil.

·      Run standups, retrospectives and working sessions; keep decisions documented and findable.

·      Act as the single point of contact between technology and the business areas.

·      Manage relationships with external vendors and implementation partners where relevant.

·      Testing and quality

·      Plan and execute functional and user acceptance testing (UAT) — build test cases, run them, and track results.

·      Coordinate business users through UAT cycles and consolidate their feedback into actionable issues.

·      Triage bugs, reproduce them clearly, prioritise them, and verify fixes before sign-off.

·      Own release checklists and go/no-go decisions together with the technical lead.

·      Documentation

·      Maintain functional documentation, process flows and user-facing guides.

·      Produce training material and run onboarding sessions for internal users on new features.

 

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years managing software or technology projects, ideally in a product or in-house engineering environment rather than pure consulting.
• Fluent Portuguese and English, written and spoken. You will run meetings in one language and write specs in the other, every day.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating distributed / remote technical teams, including across time zones.
• Hands-on experience writing requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria that developers can build from without guesswork.
• Practical experience planning and executing functional testing and UAT — this is a core part of the role, not an occasional task.
• Enough technical literacy to hold a credible conversation with developers: you understand APIs, databases, integrations and deployment cycles, and can read a data model without needing it translated.
• Fluency with project management and documentation tooling (Jira, Asana, Confluence or equivalent).
• Strong written communication. You default to writing things down.

 

Nice to have

• Background in the energy sector, utilities, or another regulated Brazilian industry.
• Experience with billing, invoicing, subscriptions or financial reconciliation systems.
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, GCP or BigQuery — you do not need to write code, but knowing what you are looking at helps.
• Experience with ERP implementations (Odoo or similar).
• Experience with QA automation tooling or structured test management platforms.
• Formal certification (PMP, PSM, PSPO or equivalent) — useful, not decisive.
