Descrição da vaga

Chop Dawg is hiring a senior designer in Brazil to lead design on our largest partner engagements. You will take products from first sketch to developer handoff, present your own work to partners every week, and be paid in USD at a level that reflects true senior ownership.

Who We Are

We are a Philadelphia-based app and software development agency in our eighteenth year, with more than 500 products launched since 2009. Our partners range from first-time founders to NASA, the NFL, Jefferson Health, Wawa, Hilton, Six Flags, the U.S. Navy, and the White House. We call them partners instead of clients on purpose: they own 100% of the work from day one, and we treat their product like our own.

Our team spans the United States, Brazil, India, and Pakistan. Design has been led out of Brazil for years, and our Brazilian designers are the ones in the room with partners every week. We are growing into bigger, longer, enterprise-scale engagements, and we need another designer who can carry that caliber of work with full ownership.

What You Will Design

Every project is different, which is the fun of agency life. In a given year our designers work on consumer mobile apps, enterprise tools, healthcare platforms, two-sided marketplaces, children's education products, and the marketing websites, admin dashboards, and brand assets that go with them. Across all of it, you will own:

  • Discovery and structure: user personas, sitemaps, and black-and-white wireframes that settle logic and flow before a single color appears
  • High-fidelity UI for iOS, Android, and responsive web, in light and dark mode, that looks like the best apps shipping in 2026 and carries its own visual identity from project to project
  • Component libraries and design systems built the way developers need them: auto layout, variables, properly named components, no stray pages
  • Complete behavior, not just screens: every button, notification, empty state, error state, and edge case defined so our developers never have to guess
  • Interactive prototypes, product flow documentation, and a handoff that development can build from without a round of questions
  • Branding and launch assets when a project calls for it: logo explorations, app icons, and Apple App Store and Google Play graphics at the correct dimensions

How We Work

  • You lead your own partner meetings on Zoom. Every role at Chop Dawg is a partner-facing role, and partners trust us because the person designing their product is the one presenting it.
  • Our Senior Product Manager reviews your work before any partner sees it. Think of him as your editor: his notes catch things early, keep the partner relationship smooth, and push the work further. Planning your week so that review happens with time to make changes is part of the job, not an interruption to it.
  • Slack and Jira are home base. Technical questions go to our developers internally first, so by the time we speak with a partner we already have the answer.
  • AI is part of the toolkit. We pay for Claude and ChatGPT, and we expect you to use them, along with Google Stitch, Figma AI, and whatever comes next, to move faster and raise the ceiling on your output.
  • Designer standups every other week, a direct line to our CTO on anything technical, and a team of designers who trade references, templates, and motion tips with each other.
  • You will typically carry two to three partner projects at a time, or dedicate yourself fully to one large enterprise engagement when the project needs it.

You Will Thrive Here If

  • You are the designer a project manager is relieved to see assigned to a demanding project.
  • A developer has thanked you for how complete your Figma file was.
  • You catch your own typos, name your own layers, and would never put a screen in front of a partner with a placeholder still in it.
  • You think about how a design will be built while you are designing it, and you choose the simplest solution that solves the problem.
  • You take feedback as information, not as an attack, and you come back with the fix instead of the reason.
  • You are on time, on camera, and quick to respond, because for a remote team those things are what trust is made of.
  • You keep up with the platforms. New iOS, new form factors like the iPhone Duo, new motion conventions: you have already read about it before we send the link.

What You Need

  • Fluent English, spoken and written, at the level of leading a meeting with American executives. This one is non-negotiable.
  • Based in Brazil and available Monday through Friday during our business hours of 9AM to 7PM Eastern (partner calls land inside that window)
  • Full-time and fully dedicated to Chop Dawg. This role cannot be combined with another job.
  • 5+ years designing mobile and web applications, with real products that shipped to real users and that you owned as the designer
  • High-fidelity work that holds up next to the best apps on the market right now, created by you, not pulled from a template or a UI kit
  • Expert-level Figma: components, auto layout, variables, prototyping, and clean file organization
  • Agency experience serving clients in the United States or Europe
  • Available to start immediately or within the next few weeks

Your Portfolio Decides Everything

We look at the work before we read anything else, and the work has to be real. We want to see live, shipped mobile or web products where you were the designer who owned them from wireframes through developer handoff, and the high-fidelity screens you created for them. Concept shots, tutorial projects, template redesigns, and screens you touched up for someone else do not count.

Here is the bar: a partner should be able to open one of your products on their phone today and feel like it belongs next to the apps they use every day. If your portfolio shows that, we want to talk to you. If it does not yet, this is not the right role for you right now.

Nice to Have

  • Motion and interaction design (micro-interactions and transitions in Figma, Lottie, Jitter, or After Effects)
  • Designing for wearables, tablets, or foldable and dual-screen devices
  • Branding and logo design
  • Jira and Confluence
  • Project management experience

Compensation and Setup

  • $4,000 to $6,000 USD per month, based on experience and the scope of what you own, paid in USD twice a month (on the 1st and 15th) through Remote.com
  • Fully remote, with the tools on us: Figma, Zoom, Claude, and ChatGPT
  • A real path to leading our largest engagements. The designers who show consistency on detail, polish, and process are the ones we put on our enterprise partners.

How Hiring Works

  1. Apply with a link to your portfolio. We look at the work before anything else.
  2. A 30-minute video call in English with our Senior Product Manager.
  3. A portfolio deep dive with our Senior Product Manager and our founder: you walk us through a shipped product inside your actual Figma file, including the decisions, the states, and the handoff. This is where we see how you think and how you work.
  4. Offer, onboarding, and your first partner project.

How to Apply

Apply through LinkedIn with a link to your portfolio. Applications without a portfolio of live, shipped mobile or web products that you owned as the designer will not be reviewed. In a sentence or two, tell us which product you are proudest of, what you owned on it, and what made it work.
