Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions across multi-cloud and private cloud environments.

This role will work closely with Sales and Engineering teams to support customer-facing initiatives, internal platforms, and infrastructure modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure across Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Build and maintain hybrid cloud environments integrating public cloud with private cloud infrastructure
• Administer and support private cloud platforms including VMware ESX/ESXi and Windows Server Datacenter environments
• Deploy, configure, and manage Linux-based systems in cloud and on-prem environments
• Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and automation for provisioning and configuration management
• Monitor infrastructure performance and ensure availability and reliability
• Implement security best practices across cloud and hybrid environments
• Collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams on solution design and deployments
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
• Develop and maintain documentation and standards
• Evaluate technologies to improve scalability and efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
• 5+ years of experience in cloud or infrastructure engineering
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure (required)
• Experience with AWS and Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with VMware ESX/ESXi and Windows Server Datacenter
• Strong Linux administration skills
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals
• Experience with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Location

This position is primarily remote. Occasional travel and onsite presence at Sycomp’s office in Brazil will be required. Occasional virtual meetings and collaboration with team members is required. The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer may need to be on-call to address critical incidents outside normal business hours. Limited travel to company sites may be necessary for hands-on projects or major system upgrades.
